How to send a copyright notice

If you believe material on ChefMate infringes your copyright, send a written notice to dmca@mychefmate.app. The preferred subject line is DMCA Notice: <brief description>. The subject prefix is a routing aid, not a legal prerequisite.

To be effective, a notice should include substantially the following:

  • your physical or electronic signature
  • identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • identification of the material to be removed or disabled, with enough detail for ChefMate to locate it
  • contact information reasonably sufficient for ChefMate to reach you
  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

ChefMate may request additional information before acting on incomplete notices.

What ChefMate may do after a complete notice

ChefMate may remove or disable access to the identified material while the complaint is reviewed. ChefMate may also preserve copies of the notice, the affected material, and internal decision records for compliance and dispute handling.

Subscriber notice, counter-notices, and restoration

ChefMate's launch posture is conservative:

  • ChefMate may take reasonable steps to notify the affected subscriber when material is removed or disabled.
  • ChefMate does not offer self-service restoration of removed material.
  • Counter-notices must be submitted in writing to the designated agent using the contact block published on this page.
  • If ChefMate receives a facially valid counter-notice, ChefMate may forward it to the original claimant and may restore the material no sooner than 10 business days and no later than 14 business days after receipt, unless ChefMate first receives notice that the claimant filed a court action seeking to restrain the subscriber from infringing activity.

Repeat infringer policy

ChefMate may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly post material subject to substantiated copyright complaints. ChefMate reserves the right to act in appropriate circumstances to terminate repeat infringers.
